In the second ten-day period of January, warmth and almost dry weather continued in Ukraine. On warm days, the average daily temperatures exceeded the norm by 6-10 ° C. The amount of precipitation was insignificant and did not exceed 15-20% of the norm; in the southern, Vinnytsya, Chernivtsi and Transcarpathian regions it was completely dry. The average regional air temperature over the ten-day period in most regions was 6.1-8.6 °C, and in the southern and Transcarpathian regions it was 3.5-6.0 °C higher than normal and ranged from minus 1.2 °C to plus 1.7 °C. The minimum air temperature decreased to minus 3-8 °C, in the Odessa and Transcarpathian regions – to minus 9-10 °C. The maximum air temperature increased to 4-9 °C, in the Kherson, Odesa, Vinnytsya , Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions – up to plus 10-12 °С.
Slight precipitation was observed for 1-2 days in the form of snow, wet snow, and in places with rain. In most regions, the average regional ten-day rainfall did not exceed 1-4 mm.
As of January 20, there was no snow in the fields. Only in the northern regions of the Sumy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, some areas of the Rivne and Kharkiv regions there was slight snow cover up to 1 cm thick.
Over the course of a ten-day, wintering crops were in a state of light winter dormancy.
