Active synoptic processes were observed in the territory of Ukraine during the ten-day period, which led to uneven rains throughout the territory, accompanied by thunderstorms, squalls and hail.
The average regional ten-day air temperature in most regions turned out to be close to the norm, in the northern, Rivne, Volyn and Luhansk regions – by 1.2-2.0 °C higher, in the Kherson, Mykolayiv and Odesa – by 1.1-2.4 ° С below normal and ranged from 17.3 °С in the west to
21.7 °С in the east of the country.
The maximum air temperature on the warmest days increased to 28-32 °C. For 1-4 days in the Transcarpathian, Volyn, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Chernigiv, Kharkiv and Luhansk regions it exceeded the mark of 30 °C.
The minimum air temperature on cool nights dropped to 8-13 °С. For 1-9 days, precipitation of varying amounts and intensity was observed almost throughout the country.
In the southern, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovograd, Cherkasy and Ivano-Frankivsk regions the amount of precipitation per ten-day period was from 205 to 393% of the norm (from 49 to 78 mm), and in Lviv, Chernivtsi, Vinnytsya, Poltava and Kharkiv regions it was 138-171 % of the norm (32-74 mm). In the Sumy, Kyiv, Khmelnitsky, Ternopil and Volyn regions the average amount of precipitation was close to the norm (21-32 mm). The least amount of precipitation in a ten-day period was noted in the Rivne, Transcarpathian, Zhytomyr and Chernigiv regions – 42-58% of the norm or 9-14 mm of precipitation.
Weather conditions during the second ten-day period of June in most of the country were generally satisfactory for the development of all agricultural crops. Cool rainy weather on most days of the ten-day period contributed to the accumulation and retention of moisture in the soil.
Unfavorable agrometeorological conditions were noted in areas where heavy rains and hail fell, which led to a local state of grain crops, silting and washing off of late crops was noted.
